This training was conducted by Nathan Ramard of Airbus Defence and Space. AIRBUS cyber range has been deployed at CSlab. This training was done to train the staff of CSlab on the deployed cyber range. A cyber range is a hyper-realistic virtual environment that replicates complex IT infrastructures, networks, and cyber threats. Acting as a “flight simulator” for cybersecurity, it allows professionals to safely practice defending against attacks and test incident response playbooks without risking live production systems or data.

This training was conducted by Igor Falcomatà, Advisor at BynarIO. CEH teaches you how to identify system vulnerabilities using hacker methodologies so you can legally and securely defend against them. Training was done on multiple tools including nmap and john the ripper. These tools are used for scanning the network for vulnerable systems and then breaking into them by cracking their passwords.

CSLab participated by presenting an interactive security game, demonstrating how behavioral profiling can enhance authentication security. Visitors had the chance to try the game with their parents and friends, experiencing how typing patterns influence authentication beyond just knowing passwords.
Digital Community Meeting

The Digital Community Meeting brought together experts to discuss innovative projects shaping the digital landscape. The event featured presentations from various research groups, highlighting advancements in AI, geodata management, and environmental monitoring.
CSLab had a dedicated slot at 9:40 AM, where Prof. Barbara Russo introduced the lab’s capabilities in providing cybersecurity services for both public and private organizations in a modular and adaptable environment. The session highlighted CSLab’s approach to tackling cyber threats with cutting-edge solutions.
CSLab Kickoff
Date: 2nd July, 2024
The CSLab Kickoff event marked the official launch of the Cyber Security Lab at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano. It was attended by cybersecurity professionals, researchers, and local industry leaders.
The event introduced CSLab’s mission and services, including cybersecurity simulations, incident response training, and penetration testing. Participants explored the state-of-the-art Cyber Range and engaged in discussions on current cybersecurity challenges.
