Date: January 11th, 2025
Location: NOI Techpark, Faculty of Engineering, Bolzano, Italy
Event Overview
The Faculty of Engineering at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano hosted its Open Day, offering students, families, and technology enthusiasts a unique opportunity to explore the faculty’s research and technological advancements. Visitors had the chance to engage with various engineering fields through interactive exhibitions and guided tours of the campus facilities.
CSLab was thrilled to participate in this event, providing an engaging demonstration that showcased the importance of behavioral profiling in cybersecurity.
CSLab’s Participation
During the Open Day, CSLab presented an exciting security game that demonstrated the power of behavioral profiling in authentication. Visitors had the opportunity to try the game alongside their parents and friends, discovering how knowing someone’s password alone was not enough to gain access if the system analyzed typing patterns and behaviors.
- Interactive Demonstration: Attendees experimented with the security game by entering passwords and observing how typing styles influenced authentication results.
- Engaging Discussions: CSLab experts were available throughout the event, discussing cybersecurity challenges and how profiling technologies can enhance security.
- Networking Opportunities: The event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with cybersecurity professionals and explore potential collaborations with CSLab.
Media Coverage
The Open Day received significant media attention, with a dedicated report covering the event. Our PhD student Moritz Mock had the opportunity to present CSLab’s work and explain the security game concept in detail. The full report in German is available at the following link:
