Cybersecurity Laboratory (CSLab)
The CSLab is an infrastructure funded by the FESR 2021-2027 program that offers a highly technological environment equipped with a Cyber-Range, a Threat Sharing, Malware Information Sharing Platform (MISP) platform, and a Security Operations Center (SOC). The CSLab provides services to organizations as well as performs applied research to promote culture and awareness of cybersecurity among public and private organizations, citizens, and the university community.
Cyber Range is a virtual environment where organizations and individuals can train their skills and test their IT and OT systems. It simulates real-life IT/OT infrastructure, including networks, systems, applications, and tools. These environments allow users to experience realistic cyberattacks and practice their defense strategies without risking the actual infrastructure. The MISP is a software solution for collecting, storing, distributing, and sharing cyber security indicators and threats related to cyber security incidents and malware analysis. MISP is designed by and for incident analysts, security and ICT professionals or malware reversers to support their day-to-day operations to share structured information efficiently. MISP aims to foster the sharing of structured information within the security communities linked to the NVD/MITRE databases such as CWE, CVE, and ExploitDB. The SOC is the center for monitoring and analyzing security data using Artificial Intelligence.
CSLab runs in collaboration with local stakeholders, such as Südtiroler Informatik AG Informatica Alto Adige, Würth Phoenix, and the ICT department of UNIBZ.
